New Samsung Omnia 7 & HTC T8788 Windows Phone 7 Handsets Spied in the Wild [New WP7 Handsets Spotted in Mobile Speed Test, the Samsung Omnia 7 & the HTC T8788]

If all the rumors we’ve seen recently regarding Windows Phone 7 are to be believed then we’re less than two weeks away from the proper launch of the first WP7 handsets. October 11 is apparently the official launch of Microsoft’s latest mobile platform, so in the mean time we’re probably be hit with more WP7 handset leaks.

Today we have two Windows Phone 7 smartphones starring the news, the Samsung Omnia 7 possibly also known as the Samsung i8700, and the HTC T8788, also seen here before.

It’s interesting to see how manufacturers tend to incorporate the number 7 in WP7 handsets’ names. After the HTC HD7 or the HTC 7 Trophy we’re not surprised to see the Samsung Omnia 7 pop-up. We don’t have a great deal of information about the phone but since the Omnia 7 will be the obvious successor of the Omnia and Omnia II we’re definitely interested in seeing it in action. The Omnia 7 could be Samsung’s first WP7 flagship device, in which case it will definitely rival the HTC HD7/HD3 when it comes to the best WP7 smartphone money can buy by Christams 2010.

The HTC T8788 doesn’t have a commercial name yet and it also surprises with the general design. The previous leak suggested the fact that the T8788 will come with a slide out speaker rather than a full QWERTY keyboard, which is a pretty puzzling feature.

We’d love to tell you more about these phones but we lack plenty of details. In fact no Windows Phone 7 handset has been properly unveiled yet and we’re definitely not surprised. The following days will probably reveal everything there is to know about the first wave of WP7 handsets and you can expect us to cover everything related to those future WP7 devices. But what say you, potential WP7 consumers, have the current leaks managed to convince you to choose a WP7 smartphone instead of something from the competition?
