New Samsung Epic 4G Commercials Now Available; Sprint Insists on Movies

Sprint Launches Three New Epic 4G Clips, Still Insists on the Multimedia Capabilities of the Samsung Android Smartphone

The new Samsung Epic 4G, Sprint’s own Galaxy S Android smartphone version, is a great handset (see our review here) but it’s not a just a featurephone that can offer you fast access to music, video, and a bunch of other features. The phone is a real smartphone capable of a lot of things but Sprint has not one, but three new commercials all focusing on the Epic 4G and its movie playing capabilities.

Sure Samsung had similar commercials across the board when promoting the Galaxy S, but we all get the point. The Samsung Galaxy S is a great tool for watching videos and movies, but it’s not the only Android device that can offer you such support. In fact there are other smartphones out there capable of similar tricks so why not promote some of the other features of the Epic 4G?

The three new ads are all available here. Entitled “Epic Chase,” “Epic Punch” and “Epic News” the three new commercials focus on video playback, but I told you that already, didn’t I?

Epic Chase shows you a black and white car chase. It’s mildly funny and the point of the ad is pretty obvious for those of you familiar with the Galaxy S series. Epic Punch shows us a box match and takes humor to a new level, although, overall, the idea behind this commercial is the same and refers to movies. Last but not least we have Epic News, my favorite of the three ads, but again one that doesn’t have anything to show for.

Samsung has sold over 2 million Galaxy S units in the USA under the four different names: Captivate, Vibrant, Epic 4G and Fascinate. In case you’re considering getting one then look past the entertainment side of the Galaxy S. The phone has lots of other interesting features worth exploring.
