iPhone 4 Unlock Available But Only in Finland at This Time; Not the Kind You Expect

If you happen to live in Finland and you happen to be interested in Apple’s latest, but very magical iPhone 4, then you’ll be happy to hear that Elisa will sell the handsets, both on and off contract to Finnish customers starting tomorrow.

“Demand for smartphones is growing exponentially with users wishing to choose applications that are suitable for their individual needs. iPhone has taken a strong foothold on the smartphone market and our aim is to make this highly popular phone available to everyone in Finland” says Panu Lehti, Executive Vice President at Elisa.

The 16GB iPhone 4 model will cost 589 Euros while the 32GB iPhone 4 will retail for 689 Euros. Some people won’t like those prices and they will certainly go for contracts while others will definitely appreciate the off contract deal. The iPhone was a Sonera-only deal so far but we’re not surprised to see that other carriers are ready to step into play.

But it’s not just Finland that’s selling unlocked iPhone 4 units in Europe. Similarly the iPhone 4 is selling unlocked in other markets like France or the UK where multiple carriers already have signed agreements with Apple for providing the smartphone to their subscribers.
