Hitachi Shows Off Thinner LCD Display Prototype

Hitachi Unveils Thinner LCD Touch Screen Display Prototype Measuring Just 1.5MM thick

As consumers continue to demand for thinner but quality-rendering displays, Hitachi aims to please. In fact the Japan-based company has shown off a new LCD touch screen display prototype which is reportedly 30% thinner than the conventional displays they have offered in the market.

The LCD prototype measures just 1.5mm in thickness. Hitachi was reportedly able to do this by removing the glass substrate and other substances. They were able to bring down the touch panel portion from 0.5mm to 0.1mm.

With the new thinness, the touch screen controls will be able to suppress the increase in noise emission which is present in most thin screens we have today.

As to when these new screens would be available, Hitachi bares that they plan to mass produce starting the second half of next year.

These new panels may very well be used in mobile handsets and other devices in the future so be ready for their coming!
