Windows Phone 7 Release Date Is October 21 for Europe, November 8 for the USA [We Get New Launch Dates for Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 Mobile Platform, October 21 & November 8 for Europe, U.S., Respectively]
We’re getting closer and closer to the official launch of Windows Phone 7, by now a famous, even if unreleased, mobile platform. And according to recent rumors we have new release dates for both European and U.S. customers.

Windows Phone 7 will be unveiled on October 21 in Europe as countries like the UK, France, Germany, Italy or Spain are rumored to get the new WP7 handsets on that date. Unfortunately for the U.S. customers, WP7 is coming only later down the road in their markets. As we already know AT&T and T-Mobile are going to be the only two major U.S. carriers to sell WP7 phones for quite a while and they’re going to start everything on November 8, according to some sources.
November 8 appears to be the actual launch date for the USA, even though Microsoft is said to hold a special New York City WP7 event as early as October 11 to show the world the first WP7 devices.
We have seen plenty of Windows Phone 7 recently in various leaks and rumors, and we can only be excited about Windows Phone 7 and Microsoft’s future in the mobile business. We have the HTC Mondrian ready for AT&T, the HTC HD7 heading to T-Mobile, but there are plenty of other WP7 smartphones scheduled to hit later this year too: HTC 7 Trophy, HTC Schubert, LG E900 / Optimus 7, Samsung Cetus. And, hopefully these are just a few of the smartphones that we’ll see in stores by the end of the year.
It will be interesting to see how much buzz will Microsoft create around its new mobile platform and we’re definitely curious to see how these first Windows Phone 7 handsets will perform when compared with the fierce competition out there. What’s definitely sure is that this holiday season you’ll have plenty of reasons to finally buy a smartphone, and there are going to be plenty of hot devices to choose from. What is it going to be: Windows Phone 7, Android or iPhone 4?
