ORIGIN PC Announces The 17.3" EON17 Gaming Notebook
If you are looking for a system that will meet or exceed the specs of many desktop style PC’s in the form of a notebook, then you may want to check out the latest from ORIGIN PC. The notebook is the recently announced EON17 and as you may have guessed, it is a gaming notebook.

That said, the EON17 features a 17.3 inch full HD widescreen display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. Other goodies include an Intel Core i7 980X processor, Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480M video cards in SLI, HDMI-in, HDMI-out, optical digital out, 7.1 HD audio and a full sized keyboard with a numeric keypad.
Additionally, the EON17 comes sporting a touch sensitive multi-gesture pad and Instant Access Buttons. Other standard features include a 9-in-1 media card reader, ExpressCard slot and up to 24GB of Triple Channel DDR3 RAM and up to three hard drives. Oh, and lets not forget the Super-Multi Blu-ray Burner Combo optical drive.
And if this was not enough to make your friends jealous, there is also the option to have a custom paint job applied.
“ORIGIN offers custom hand painting through a partnership with the artisans at Killer Paint. With over 29 years of experience Killer Paint is globally recognized as one of the best in custom airbrush design and innovating the True Fire® effect.”
Of course, while all of this sounds great — it does come at a price which in this case is $2,499. And keep in mind, that is just a starting price. You can add on solid or metallic finishes for $179, designs starting at $279 and that 24GB of RAM — that would add in an extra $2,831.
Lastly, the system measures in at 16.50 (W) x 11.26 (D) x 2.22-2.39 (H) inches and has a weight of 12.1 pounds, which thankfully includes the battery. Those interested can head on over to the ORIGIN PC website to custom configure a model. Otherwise, hit the gallery below and enjoy the images of what appears to be a nice looking notebook.
