GV Mobile + Google Voice for iPhone Application Now Free in the App Store

New Google Voice App for iPhone, GV Mobile +, Now Available Free of Charge

A few days ago we told you that there’s a $2.99 Google Voice application available in the App Store. GV Connect was the first Google Voice app to be approved by Apple, after Cupertino dropped its firm rules and regulations regarding the iOS environment when it comes to App Store apps.

But that’s not the only Google Voice app for iPhone currently available in the App Store. There’s also a GV Mobile + application also priced, regularly, at $2.99. Just like GV Connect, this GV Mobile + isn’t exactly the officially official Google Voice application but it gets the job done. In fact, here’s what you can expect from GV Mobile +:

  • dial numbers via the iPhone address book, entering on the keypad, or choosing from the internal favorites
  • send, retrieve, and delete SMS messages
  • retrieve and delete recent call history
  • playback and delete voicemails
  • take calls from different phones other than your iPhone
  • enable, disable, add, or delete the phones that Google Voice forwards calls to

But what’s totally different with GV Mobile + is that the app is currently available free of charge in the App Store. At $2.99, the GV Mobile + wasn’t that expensive in the first place but it can be yours for free for a limited time. All you have to do is follow the via link below and install your GV Mobile + copy.

We definitely expect other Google Voice versions to appear in the near future although what will be really interesting to follow is whether Google’s original Google Voice application for iPhone will ever be resubmitted for approval with the App Store. After all this would be the best time to do it since Apple is surely going to hang on to these lighter App Store rules and regulations since they appear to be working as expected: the EU is said to drop its Apple investigation after Cupertino changed those terms and conditions. But Apple still has other similar problems to worry about and can’t just come up with harsher App Store rules in the very near future.
