Chinese iPhone 4 Demand Surpasses Supply, Customers Left Without Devices [Massive Chinese iPhone 4 Hype Results In Sold Out Inventory, Unhappy Customers]

With just about any Apple product launch there is an immense amount of hype that comes into play. If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ll know that leading up to any of these product launches there is a whole slew of speculation, leaks and more. However, out of Apple’s entire product line up the device that gets the single most attention is undoutedly the iPhone.

Originally launched back in 2007 the iPhone has been immensely successful for Apple. In fact, in just a few short years the iPhone has helped Apple become of the world’s leading handset manufacturers which is a pretty amazing feat considering they are a newcomer to the market.

Of all the iPhone releases, the latest version dubbed the iPhone 4 has run into the most problems leading up to and after its launch. As you’re sure to know, the phone had leaked prior to its launch after an infamous Apple employee allegedly left a prototype iPhone 4 on a barstool somewhere in California. After being sold to Gizmodo a whole legal battle ensued thus confirming the device’s authenticity.

Following the iPhone 4′s launch, however, came the dreadful deathgrip fiasco. If you’re not familiar with this and have an iPhone 4, hold the device tightly in your left hand and watch your reception bars quickly disappear. Thankfully Apple remedied the problem by offering free cases to all buyers but it is sure to leave a sour taste in the mouth of otherwise loyal customers for years to come.

Despite these problems the iPhone 4 has managed to be immensely successful. As we’ve recently told you, Chinese consumers in particular have recieved the iPhone 4 extremely well. At the time of the official announcement, we told you that massive lines had formed and that high sales numbers for China Unicom were being put up.

Today, however, we have a report from the Wall Street Journal that says the demand for the iPhone 4 is so large that China Unicom is having a hard time keeping up.

Unfortunately exact sales numbers are not being released at this time so we have no idea exactly how large the demand was. However, Apple employees are telling unhappy Chinese customers to continuously check online and within retail locations as new units will be available soon.
