BlackBerry Style 9670 Shows Up In Sprint Computers [Sprint Computers Begin Showing Unreleased BlackBerry Style 9670, Release Imminent?]

Research in Motion has typically been known to release smartphones with QWERTY keyboards and the standard candybar form factor. Some may say this is not being innovating but those who stand by the BlackBerry devices know that it’s exactly what makes them so great. However, RIM is no stranger to innovation as in the past they’ve also been know to change things up a bit every once in a while.

One such device that strayed from RIM’s roots is the BlackBerry Storm and later, the BlackBerry Storm 2. These devices feature a clickable touchscreen – something we had never seen before on a mobile device. Past that we have the BlackBerry Torch 9800. This device was the first to run RIM’s new BlackBerry 6 mobile operating system and featured a capacitive touchscreen along with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

While both of the above mentioned devices have received their fair share of lovers and haters, they aren’t exactly ugly. In fact, some would go as far as saying they actually are nice looking devices. However, the same can not be said about one device coming from RIM dubbed the BlackBerry Style 9670.

We’ve seen this device many times in the past and each time have been repulsed by its clamshell, flip-phone form factor. However, seeing how RIM went along with its production, there must be at least a handful of consumers out there who they feel will buy the phone.

While we’ve heard of the device, we’ve not yet heard which carrier in the United States it will be coming to. Today, however, a leaked screen shot of an internal Sprint machine has hit the web showing the BlackBerry Style 9670 within the wireless carrier’s database.

We cannot yet guess when exactly the Style will be out for Sprint but if you’re hoping for a clamshell BlackBerry with built-in 4G connectivity, don’t hold your breath.

Does anyone actually want the BlackBerry Style 9670?

I have been waiting for this phone. I despise all candy bar phones. The microphone that you speak into should be close to your mouth, not halfway up your face.
