Paid Android Market Apps Coming to More Countries
The Android Market is the second most popular application store after the App Store, but not all international Android fans can access paid applications from Google’s store. It’s obvious that such a move is definitely not beneficial for Android customers, Android developers, and, ultimately, Google.

But Google has decided to expand the number of countries for the Android Market, which means more paid apps for you, if you’re currently reading these lines from a market not currently supported by Google, and more money for the developers behind those apps, and, ultimately, Google.
Here’s what the Android Market Team wrote to developers:
Hello,
We’re writing to inform you about some changes to Android Market that require your attention.Over the next few weeks, we’ll be adding paid apps support for additional countries. If you have selected to publish your paid apps to all locations and intend to support all new locations as we expand the number of supported countries for paid apps, you don’t have to do anything. If you have selected to publish your paid apps to all locations but intend to only target the currently supported 14 countries, please update your location selections to target these specific countries.
Please look for follow-up emails when we introduce paid apps support for specific additional countries in the coming weeks. At that time, you’ll have the option to target these specific countries.
Thanks, and we look forward to continue working with you on Android Market.
Sincerely,
The Android Market Team
As you can see there are no specific details about the upcoming countries that will get Android Market support so we definitely expect a new email in the near future to clarify these matters. We’ll be back with more news once Google decided to make everything official, so, until then, you’re back to downloading free applications only.
