T-Mobile G2 Pre-Order Ready
Just a few weeks after Best Buy started accepting pre-orders for the upcoming Android superphone, T-Mobile has now joined them and is now directly offering the T-Mobile G2 themselves. Only existing T-Mobile customers can pre-order the phone so far, and the price is a little steep, but it’s still the hottest Tmo phone of the season.

T-Mobile is charging $250 for the device, and that’s before a $50 rebate. One advantage to buying the phone from another retailer is that the prices will be lower. Best Buy is charging just $199 and Radio Shack will be selling the phone for $150 (!), according to a Tweet from their Twitter account. It goes without saying that all those prices are for a new two-year contract.
The G2 will go on sale everywhere on October 6th. Existing T-Mobile customers have until October 4th to pre-order the device to be assured they’ll get it by October 6th. SlashGear is reporting that the phone will go up for pre-order to non-T-Mobile customers very soon. They’re expecting Tmo to sell out of pre-order slots, like Sprint did with the Epic 4G. So, if you’re an existing Tmo customer, you may want to pre-order the G2 sooner, rather than later.
To recap the features of the phone, it’s got a 3.7-inch screen, a 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of onboard ROM plus a 8GB microSD card included. It’ll be packing Android 2.2 and overall looks to be a nice little phone for the T-Mobile folks. It’s nice to see T-Mobile get some Android love. This summer they’ve sort of been neglected as all the hot Android phones seem to be going to other carriers (Droid X, EVO 4G, Dell Streak).
