GreenPois0n / SHAtter iOS 4.1 (iOS 3.2.2) Jailbreak Release Pending, to Arrive Before iOS 4.2 [The iPhone Wiki Administrator Hints iOS 4.1 Jailbreak Release Date, Expects It to Hit Before iOS 4.2 Arrives]
We’ve been talking a lot about GreenPois0n lately, the rumored name of the next iOS important jailbreak. Hopefully you haven’t downloaded the fake tool yet and you’re ready to wait some more for the real thing to arrive.

And, as it turns out, we have some more details about GreenPois0n for you today. According to Vincent, who happens to be the administrator of The iPhone Wiki, a place that has plenty of iPhone hacks for anyone interested in such procedures, the iOS 4.1 (iOS 3.2.2 probably supported too) jailbreak is coming before Apple releases iOS 4.2.

Vince is referring to what we’re calling GreenPois0n so far as SHAtter (see the image above), but it doesn’t really matter how the first program that jailbreaks iOS 4.1 is called. According to what we’ve known so far SHAtter is the name of the exploit found by pod2g, a hacker no longer affiliated with the Chronic Dev Team. Said exploit is what will make GreenPois0n possible, and, according to previous leaks, it will jailbreak all current iOS devices, iPhones, iPod touches and iPads, forever
While Vincent isn’t able, or maybe isn’t allowed to, reveal the actual release date fro GreenPois0n / SHAtter, he does say “iOS 4.1 will be jailbroken soon.” Considering that he’s the administrator of The iPhone Wiki we definitely assume he knows more about the next iOS 4.1 jailbreaking tools than the average Joe so you should definitely be excited to hear that the iOS 4.1 jailbreak tool is heading your way in the following weeks rather than the following months.
We’ll definitely keep you update on the matter so stay tuned for more iOS jailbreak-related news. In the mean time, if you plan to buy a new iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4G running iOS 4.1 or iOS 4.0.2, or an iPad with iOS 3.2.2 and plan to jailbreak the device, then go ahead and get your Apple mobile gadget as a proper jailbreak seems to be just around the corner.
