Flickr Uploads Now Supported In Android 2.2 Web Browser
Uploading images from your mobile phone is fairly important these days, not only because it is nice to get the images off your phone and somewhere else just to have a second (backup) copy, but also to share them by way of image upload sites and/or social networking sites. Enter one of which, Flickr, who, by way of their mobile site have recently made it that much easier for Android 2.2 users to upload an image.

The new support comes as direct image uploading from the web browser. Those using an Froyo-equipped handset and visiting the mobile Flickr site, found at m.flickr.com will get a special “upload a photo or video” link that other Android users will not. That link will do the obvious, allow you to upload images and/or videos. But more important, once clicked you will be presented with the option to choose a file and from where. After you choose the correct file, just click upload and you are all set.
Sounds nice for Android 2.2 users, but those looking to upload images from other versions of Android are not entirely left out. In that case, there is always the option to upload by email. And for those not familiar with this method, simply visit the “Your account / Uploading by email” page (being logged in) found here and you will see your special upload by email address.
Personally, this method has served me fine for years and works with any email app, regardless. Of course, another, and non-Flickr method for getting images off your phone easily is done by way of the SugarSync app. This app allows you to create a cloud based account and offers the ability to automatically backup the images from the storage card in your phone.
With that, it is nice to see Flickr making things easier for Android users.
