Research in Motion has been known to release a whole slew of devices all throughout the year. This can be made evident by looking at just about any wireless carrier’s handset line up which is with several BlackBerry models. However, while the BlackBerry Curve and Bold have gotten several iterations, the touch screen touting Storm has not seen the same.

RIM has released a successor to the original Storm appropriately named the Storm 2 but in terms of a plethora of different models, the Storm hasn’t exactly gotten the same treatment. However, if you’ll remember just a few days ago we let you know that leaked pictures of a supposed BlackBerry Storm 3 had leaked onto the Internet.

Well, photographs of a new device named the BlackBerry Storm 9570 have leaked today. Our source tells us that the new device features specs very similar to the BlackBerry Storm 9550 a.k.a the Storm 2. However, the 9570 features more RAM than the Storm 9550 which had only 256MB. Exactly how much of a boost we aren’t yet sure but our best guess points towards 512MB. When more solid information is made known we’ll send it your way.

While this device may be possibly be dubbed a Storm 3 when it eventually hits the market the device’s design is pretty much an exact copy of the 9550, SurePress screen and all, so it’s assumed its just an updated Storm 2. This means anyone hoping for a 4G/LTE enabled BlackBerry Storm 3 will most likely be disappointed. However, seeing how this is far from an official announcement it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to assume that RIM would tweak the phone’s hardware at least slightly before launch.

Apparently, the reason for this device’s existence is the fact that the Storm 9550′s 256MB was not enough to run RIM’s new BlackBerry 6 mobile operating system. However, with the BlackBerry 9570′s increased RAM BlackBerry 6 will run with no problems, or so we hope.
