LG Optimus Android Smartphone Tipped For Release With T-Mobile [LG Optimus With Wi-Fi Calling Rumored As Coming To T-Mobile, We Will Believe It When We See It]

Rumors can be considered the spice of the internet. Or at least in the world of tech and gadgets they can. And one of the latest deals with the LG Optimus smartphone and the possibility of it arriving with T-Mobile here in the US.

Just to begin, this one is a bit iffy. In other words, we would like to think it will happen, but will reserve happiness for when it actually comes true in the form of actual availability. That said, here are the details for the Optimus.

To begin with, the specs of the handset include a 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, 1500 mAh battery and a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus and video recording. So yea, granted this may not be a super high end Android device but there is more.

In terms of software, you can expect to see Android 2.2 along with the usual Google goodies such as Gmail, Google Maps, the Android Market and more. But more importantly is the ability in terms of Wi-Fi calling. The Optimus supports calling over Wi-Fi which means you will be able to “make calls using broadband internet connections via Wi-Fi hotspots” and here is the kicker — “without using your minutes.”

Basically, find a hotspot and save some minutes. Sounds pretty nice and would allow those who are often in Wi-Fi areas to save a few bucks a month on regular voice minutes.

And lastly, for those who find the color of the exterior casing is important, the LG Optimus will arrive with three different color options. Though, none of the three were listed on the leaked document. With that, we remind that this may not be the most solid rumor. It does look like a decent handset, lets just hope that it if is released, that T-Mobile will price is fairly.
