Verizon iPhone 4: 3 Million CDMA Units to be Made in December?

Apple Now Rumored to Make 3 Million CDMA iPhones in December Alone; AT&T Still in Denial

AT&T might tout its own horn about not giving a damn when it comes to losing iPhone exclusivity but I’m sure Verizon is just a little more excited about the CDMA iPhone 4 that seems closer and closer to heading to Big Red. A recent report is saying that Apple will be building no less than 3 million CDMA iPhones this December, so early 2011 might bring you a fresh Verizon iPhone.

The news comes from analyst Jeffrey Fidacaro from Susquehanna Financial Group, as he was apparently able to check with overseas suppliers that told him Apple is building the 3 million CDMA iPhones this December. Naturally analysts are not known for their accuracies when predicting such stuff so this number might be totally bogus.

What’s certain though is that Verizon is getting the iPhone 4, or at least a version of it. The more rumors we get about such a move from Apple, and these rumors tend to pop up more and more often lately, the clearer it is that Big Red is not going to pass again on this deal, after having refused Apple when the original iPhone was launched.

While AT&T is saying that it will keep most of its current iPhone subscribers and competition from a Verizon iPhone will not hurt business, it will be interesting to see what Google and its Android partners will have to say about Verizon getting Apple’s iPhone.

Verizon has been, at least until now, the main promoter of Android handsets in the USA, not because it is necessarily in love with Google, and the the very strange Microsoft’s Bing integration on Android devices proves that, but because it had to offer some iPhone alternatives to its own subscribers. But now that the iPhone is coming to Verizon, will the carrier still continue to launch iPhone-killers too?

Speaking of Bing on Verizon Android phones, we’re also interested to see whether Apple will let Big Red pre-load Verizon’s iPhones with all the crapware you’d expect Verizon to bundle every smartphone with.

Will you buy one of those 3 million CDMA iPhones in case they exist?
