LG Optimus One Android Smartphone Tipped For Release With Verizon Wireless
LG originally announced the Optimus One smartphone earlier this month, at which time they stated it would begin coming available as of October. Well, to add some rumors on top of that official release, it looks like Verizon may be launching the Optimus One in November as the Vortex.

So far the details are just that, rumor and speculation. But with that we do have the image of the Verizon branded Optimus One. As for a release date, some are calling for November 1st, though that is far from official. In terms of price, we can only base this on the specs and given that it should be fairly inexpensive.
And for those who may have glossed over the original announcement, the LG Optimus One features a 3.2 inch (320 x 480) HVGA touchscreen display, 600Mhz processor, 1500 mAh battery, 170MB internal storage, microSD card slot and 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus. Other features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, aGPS, an FM Radio, accelerometer, proximity sensor, light sensor, digital compass and a 2GB memory card pre-installed.
The one bonus here comes in with Android, in the case of the Optimus One, or the Vortex as it will be called with Verizon — that is Android 2.2 Froyo. And that means all of the new and fancy apps from Google such as Google Voice Actions.
Bottom line here, this one does not look like it will be running with some of the other Android devices with Verizon, after all, this one is much more of a mid-range device as compared to the Droid X, Droid 2 and Droid Incredible. That said, it should fill a nice niche and join the likes of the LG Ally. With that, it looks like we are going to have to look for some more leaks, that or, wait for Verizon to offer something official.
