GreenPois0n iOS 4.1 / 3.2.2 Jailbreak for iPhone 4, iPod touch 4 & iPad in Danger?

We have been talking a lot lately about the new iPhone 4, iPod touch 4 and iPad jailbreak solution, the so-called GreenPois0n tool that is apparently able to jailbreak iOS 4.1 and iOS 3.2.2 devices. But today we hear some disturbing news about the initiator of this jailbreak idea. The hacker that goes by the name of pod2g has decided to leave the Chronic Dev Team so we can’t but wonder if this move will affect in any way the future of GreenPois0n.

pod2g is already famous for finding the previous 24Kpwn exploit, so I guess that discovering SHAtter is only logical, but he/she has announced that he/she is leaving the Chronic Dev Team. We have no idea why the sudden change of pace and why this need of working independently, but pod2g doesn’t want to cooperate with the rest of the team anymore.

Since GreenPois0n is based on SHAtter, according to the rumors and leaks out there, can we assume that the whole iOS 4.1 / 3.2.2 jailbreak will be delayed? According to the same pod2g both the Chronic Dev Team and the iPhone Dev Team are well aware of the way SHAtter works and therefore they should be able to develop a working jailbreak version for current iOS devices.

We will also be left to wonder what happened to convince pod2g to give up working on the jailbreak tool. In his series of tweets, available at the link below, he did say that he is an “exploit maker, not a jailbreak tool developer.” Furthermore when asked via Twitter why he/she did decide to leave the Chronic Dev Team, pod2g answered “not important. No drama.”
