All Points Bulletin Closing, Five People Sad
On June 29th, Realtime Worlds launched their MMO All Points Bulletin. On September 17th (GMT), they announced the game was to be shut down. The troubled game for the troubled developer was poorly received by the press and had tons of alleged issues with hackers. Now, it’s going away.

You may remember that the developer, Realtime Worlds, made their claim to fame by developing popular Xbox 360 game Crackdown. After Microsoft didn’t commission a sequel to Crackdown immediately, Realtime Worlds abandoned the franchise and went to work on All Points Bulletin – a quasi-open world crime MMOG.
Shortly after the game came out, things started going bad for developer Realtime Worlds. They laid off a big part of their staff, and went into administration. They admitted that they hoped to find a buyer – and the financial firm shopping the company around bragged the APB had the highest “revenue per player” of any online MMOG. That revenue per player was $28 per month, but when you have five players, it doesn’t matter much, I guess.
Inside the game, it received middling review scores. Those who did player the game claimed it was overcome with hackers and cheaters. We’re assuming that the game is being shut down because whatever company that was supposed to buy Realtime Worlds backed out. Without a buyer, it looks obvious that Realtime Worlds won’t survive administration.
Say what you will about APB (and it’s perceived lackluster quality), but there’s something said about a game that people worked years on only lasting two months.

Closed down?!!! Damn, it was such a good fun! I stoped playing just because I’m too busy in college, but was planing to go back to it soon, specially if the would introduced bikes in some expansion :(
wow what a surprise. I was waiting for the game devs to fix the hackers before coming back. And you know what, those CHEATING whores, ruined the game for everyone.
If theres anyone to blame for APB’s unpopularity, was the hackers with their wall hacks, auto aim and etc etc.. made the game very annoying.
Damn you hackers/cheaters…. RIP APB… the game had potential.
That’s a damn shame… I was just looking to buy the game today… I thought it looked pretty badass. Screw hackers!
Is there a way I can still download APB? It looked like a great game, and recently 9Dragons has made a return.
best game ever and those f***ing hackers couldn’t keep their hands of screw them.
i wanted to have this game so bad now im really pissed of. i only played the beta.
