Twitter Shows Off New Site Design With Embedded Content, Begins Roll Out Now
With every popular web property it isn’t long before something new and improved comes along to take its place. This can be seen with the MySpace era which quickly gave way to Facebook – the most used social network site in the world. However, despite being a highly trafficked site, Facebook is not the only social network in circulation.

Twitter is another social network with just about everyone who’s anyone having an account. However, in order to keep up with new and innovative web properties, Twitter will have to change things up a bit to keep their operations fresh.
Luckily, just recently the company has announced that they will be doing just that with a complete site redesign. Now before you get upset, make note that things haven’t changed too much but instead just enough to make the site more usable.
If you’ve used the official iPad Twitter client you’re recognize the new site design as it is very similar. Featuring two window panes instead of one, the left will act as your tweet feed and the right will act as a sort of dashboard. For instance, this means that you’ll be able to view a single tweet alongside all of your followers in one window instead of having to open an additional tab as in the past.
Also, Twitter is allowing content to be embedded straight into the site so YouTube videos, TwitPic pictures and more will be displayed in the right pane, again, without having to open a new tab or window.
All of this is explained quite nicely in the above video so if you’re not following what I’m saying be sure to check it out.
If you’re lucky, you may have noticed that the new Twitter is already available for you but if you’re one of the ~160 million users who haven’t yet been subject to the roll out sit tight because the update is coming your way in the coming weeks.
