Samsung i8700 Windows Phone 7 Powered Handset Gets Video Leak

Windows Phone 7 Powered Samsung i8700 Touchscreen Touting Smartphone Makes Video Debut

iOS and Android have been on the market for years steadily gaining their respective shares of the market. However, in the coming months Microsoft will release their latest and great mobile operating system dubbed Windows Phone 7. While their last attempt at a mobile OS with Windows Mobile wasn’t exactly critically acclaimed, WP7 is shaping up to be a very viable competitor in the industry.

However, unless Microsoft is able to get the software onto some hard hitting handsets it may not have a chance. Luckily, several devices running the platform have already been leaked and given hands on reviews with mostly positive reception. This leads Windows Phone 7 hopefuls to believe that Microsoft may be onto something this time around.

If you’ll remember, just a few days ago one such device running Microsoft’s new mobile platform had leaked dubbed the i8700. This smartphone, from Samsung, feature a large touchscreen (between 3.7 and 4 inches), 8GB of built in storage and a camera with an LED flash. As you can probably tell details are quite scarce regarding hthe i8700 but today, there is hope.

The reason I say this is because a video showcasing the i8700 has been leaked and spread across the Internet for all to see. Unfortunately, there isn’t much in the video that we don’t already know but it’s nice to get a video impression of what the device’s design and functionality will look like ahead of its official launch.

If third party manufacutrers continue to push out devices of the i8700′s quality, Android and iOS (among other platforms) may really look to be getting a run for their money this holiday season. Microsoft executies have said in the past that Windows Phone 7 will launch sometime next month so we don’t have too long to wait until we find out ourselves.

Anyone out there looking to make the jump to Windows Phone 7 right when it is made available?
