Panasonic EVOLTA Batteries Embark on New Challenge
Putting Panasonic’s EVOLTA batteries to the test was witnessed last year when Panasonic had set a record for the longest distance covered by a remote-controlled model car.
The company’s small Evoia robot piloted the said car which was powered by a couple of EVOLTA AA batteries.
For the record, the said remote-controlled car traveled an impressive 14.82 miles around the LeMans race circuit after 24 hours. This time around, that is nothing compared to this new challenge.
The stage is set for the EVOLTA World Challenge III. It will kick off on September 23 were a new robot named ROBO-Garage will take on a 310 mile route from Tokyo to Kyoto Japan.
Unlike last year, this race will require the robot to make some pit stops (at recharging stations of course).
So with that in mind, the new challenge may take more time and is expected to finish by December 10.
And as you would guess, this can be seen more of a publicity stunt to of course build the Panasonc EVOLTA batteries!
