Google Formally Announces New Google Instant Search Engine Feature

Google Instant Predicts Your Searches, Shows You Results As You Type

If you’re an avid Internet user chances are search engines are a big part of your life. Accessing a website directly may be your information consumption method of choose but when it comes to the obscure stuff, search engines are pretty much your only option.

Ever since the early 90s when the concept of a search engine was first published, the services have remained fundamentally the same. Yahoo was a leading competitor at the time holding a hefty share of the market against webisites like AltaVista, Lycos and more.

However, when the year 2000 rolled around, Google really made its mark. Introducing the the world their unique PageRank system along with a complex algorithm, Google was able to provide consuemrs with incredible accurate and high quality search results.

Yahoo and even Microsoft’s Bing have taken design cues from Google introducing their own respective versions of PageRank but haven’t managed to best Google in terms of marketshare.

The immense success of Google’s unique search engine underworkings, it has allowed the company to break into just about any industry they please. Considering you’re reading this site you’ve undoutedly heard of their Androdi mobile operating system, their Chrome web browser, their Google TV television platform and much, much more.

However, despite having so many products in different industry Google never strays away from the service that made them what they are today; search. Luckily, their engineers are hard at work keeping things fresh making sure that the search engine mammoth retains their market share for years to come.

Today, the company has come forth to launch their newest feature dubbed Google Instant. This new feature is a seemingly very accurate predective service that will show consumers search results as they type.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this new features effects SEO and website traffic in general.
