Samsung Studying Android-Powered HDTVs

Samsung is Seriously Considering the Release of Android-Powered HDTVs to Compete with Apple and Sony]

It seems to be a delayed reaction on the part of Samsung but as they say “better late than never”. This is perhaps what best sums up this latest news that the Korean-based company is considering to come up with Android-powered HDTV sets, a consumer electronic line which was supposed to be their niche.

After Apple and Sony (Google TV) showed off their new devices during the IFA 2010, it does seem strange to find Samsung at the tail-end.

Samsung has been known to be a leader in this department (HDTV manufacturing) and on whether this overlooked aspect will be costly is something that should tell in the coming days.

Regardless though, Samsung is expected to cook up something.

Being the world leader in HDTVs sold, coming up with an Android-powered HDTV set is only to be expected from Samsung Electronics.

Samsung is one of the first companies to out an IPTV with apps and Internet connectivity since way back in 2006.
