Samsung Fascinate Appears on Official Verizon-made Video [Verizon Showcases the Samsung Fascinate Ahead of Android Smartphone Launch]
The last Samsung Galaxy S model is coming to the USA as the Fascinate from Verizon. The phone will be available online tomorrow, September 8 and in stores a day later on September 9. But we already told you that earlier today. Now we have a video of the Samsung Fascinate in action and this 5-minute clip is coming straight from Verizon.

The home-made Verizon Fascinate video emphasizes some of the hot features of the smartphone, but Verizon seems to be forgetting that it’s the last carrier to bring the Galaxy S to the attention of the U.S. public. Samsung sold over 1 million Galaxy S units and Android smartphones fans in the USA are pretty much aware of what the Vibrant, the Captivate and the Epic 4G can do.
Therefore, if you’re familiar with the device, the video above will not exactly impress you, but if this is the first time you hear about the Galaxy S, then the video will show you Verizon’s thoughts on the Fascinate, or plenty of reasons for purchasing the device.
And here are some of the features of the Fascinate Verizon is pitching to new customers:
- Android 2.1
- 4-inch Super-AMOLED touchscreen display
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- microUSB port
- 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording
- 3G Mobile Hotspot capabilities for up to 5 Wi-Fi devices
- 7 customizable Home Screens
- Customizable widgets
- Swype support
- Exclusive apps like: NFL Mobile, Blockbuster, Skype Mobile, V Cast Video, VZ Navigator
- Bing search engine and Bing Widget (ironically there’s no Google Search on an Android phone)
- Multitasking
In case you were impressed with these Fascinate specs and features then we’ll remind you the phone will sell for $199.99 with a 2-year contract starting tomorrow, so get ready for inking a new deal with Verizon. But don’t be fooled, the Galaxy S isn’t a Verizon exclusive, even if the video says the Fascinate is. Every other carrier from the Big Four has it, so switching to Verizon to get it is not necessary.
