These are the YP-Q3 and YP-U6 media players, modest but sane PMP devices that should be interesting to check out.

The Samsung YP-Q3 comes in a simple design along with a color-matching user interface, a 5.1 channel sound support and up to 45 hours of audio playback and 6 hours of video rendering.

The other one, the Samsung YP-U6 media player is a more simpler model.

It boasts of a color display, a fitness mode, voice feedback and up to 20 hours of continuous audio playback on a full charge.

Both Samsung media players will feature SoundAlive and should be great alternative for people seeking other portable media players outside that of the usual Apple iPods.

Sadly there was no word yet on pricing nor the release date.

Is there anyone who has experienced the Advanced Sound Engine support including 5.1 virtual surround feature which is indicated in the product’s description? I’m curious.

Compared to existing products, Q3 is more effective in reproducing musical beat and more vividly delivers the vocal voice. People’s voice is clearly delivered without being disturbed by musical instrument or sound effect. It also plays the low tones well, which I like, but also has a good balance with high tone.
