New Google Nexus One Froyo FRG33 ROM Discovered in the Wild [Google Nexus One Ready for New Android 2.2 Froyo Update? Version FRG33 Lurking in the Shadows]
The Google Nexus One has obviously been the first Android handset to run both non-official and official Froyo builds since Android 2.2 was launched. And the first and only Google Android device will probably be running the first Gingerbread and Honeycomb versions when they’ll be available, in any form, in the near future.

But until then it looks like there’s a new Froyo update available for Google Nexus One handsets. We even have a name for the new ROM coming to Nexus One smartphones: Froyo FRG33, a firmware build discovered by the XDA Developers, not that we’re surprised in any way by this particular find.
Don’t expect major updates as FRG33 is now said to bring only some minor bug fixes as well as a new radio version than the current Froyo build. While some people hoped they were really dealing with an early Gingerbread ROM here, that was not the case and FRG33 is really just an improved Android 2.2 version available for Google’s own Android handset.
Those people that have already gotten the update are reporting faster responsiveness with the phone in general and with the connectivity of the phone’s wireless support.
FRG33 appears to be available to install on any phone, although that might cripple your device and lock you out of the Android Market. The FRG33 update is obviously not officially confirmed by either Google or its partners so we’re definitely interested in seeing it become official before advising you to update your Nexus One.
This “brand new RUU” for Nexus One is available right now to install, but before you follow this particular path, do remember to backup all your precious data before getting the ROM. And I don’t think I’ll have to tell you again that you’ll be pursuing this FRG33 upload on your own, with you being the sole responsible for the unofficial upgrade, do I?
