New BlackBerry Torch 9800 Commercial Equally Impressive as the Previous One
The last BlackBerry Torch 9800 commercial we’ve seen was totally fun. Entitled “Rollercoaster” the previous video was a lot different than what we’ve seen lately when it comes to mobile ads. Today we have a new commercial for you starring the same BlackBerry handset.

“Moby Dick” shows us AT&T’s BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphone, and this time around the 1-minute ad is focusing on the features of the Torch in order to tell us this story adapted to our modern lives. Using the specs and features of the BlackBerry Torch 9800, AT&T tells the story of the modern Moby Dick, and that whale would probably stand no chance in a technological world like ours.
Unlike “Rollercoaster” which is simply relying on humor to pitch the Torch, the “Moby Dick” commercial reveals various features of the Torch 9800 that would make the phone appealing to the crowds. We see the full QWERTY keyboard, the music and video player, the GPS support, the camera with Flash support, the social networking integration, apps support, instant messaging capabilities, the voice commands, the calendar and the browsing capabilities during the commercial.
All these features are used in order to recreate the story while making the phone sound very interesting. The device is definitely one of the best BlackBerry handsets made by RIM so far, but it’s not a smartphone killer and we wouldn’t consider it RIM’s flagship device yet. And the only way of making it better right now is to add some color from Colorware, although that doesn’t really make the Torch a more powerful device.
The Torch sales in the USA haven’t been spectacular, but maybe things will change once this BlackBerry starts selling to Canadian customers. Canada is going to get it next where Telus, Bell and Rogers will offer the Torch 9800 to their subscribers starting with September 24 and other markets will probably get it thereafter.
