Motorola Mocks Apple In Latest Newspaper Ad
Whatever ad agency Motorola has is brilliant. We saw them take on the iPhone 4 antennagate issue head on with a mocking ad encouraging users that “No Jacket Required” when using the Droid X. Now, they’re taking on the lack of Flash on the iOS platform.

As you can see above, the new ad mocks Apple’s “There’s an app for that” marketing slogan. As many of our readers know, Android 2.2 brings full Flash 10.1 to the platform and that is a clear advantage to Android over iOS to those who care about such a thing.
Some popular tech blogs have recently posted articles that say that Flash is “terrible” on Android. In our (my) experience with Flash on Android devices, it’s fine. Especially on devices with fast processors like the Droid X and Droid 2. Your mileage may vary.
Apple loyalists will tell you that Flash doesn’t matter, it’s outdated and it’s a system hog. Android fans will act like Flash is some sort of requirement for a rich web experience. The truth is actually somewhere in the middle (as usual).
It’s great to see Motorola going right for Apple. Our reviews of the Droid 2 and Droid X on Verizon found both of those products to be really compelling. We feel that their products are generally great alternatives to the iPhone – and it’s nice to see Motorola trying to muscle their names in there.

“Brilliant ad”? Seriously? You’d be lucky if this ad tested at 5% recognition of what Flash even is amongst non-dweeb users. You’re blinded by your own tech goggles.
