iPad 2 iPod touch 4G-Like Video Calls Feature Spotted in the Wild?
The next-gen iPad will probably be announced in January as the device is simply too popular not to have at least a successor in the following months. Apple is well known for its yearly product refreshes and all its popular devices get new features once a year. Such is the case of every laptop or desktop model, the iPhone, the iPods and the iPad will definitely have a similar faith.

And while it’s too early to talk iPad 2 features, considering what we’ve seen in the iPod touch 4G and the iPhone 4, we can definitely speculate on some of the features of the upcoming tablet. Support for FaceTime video calls has extended from iPhone 4 only to iPod touch 4G too.
The logical next step is including FaceTime support, and therefore dual, front-facing and back cameras included in the iPad 2, and then we expect Apple’s laptops and desktops to also have FaceTime features right out of the box.

The iPad 2 is probably going to be the tablet we would have wanted from Apple in the first place, and while features like Flash support won’t be available, a front-facing camera and a camera on the back for taking pictures are definitely expected. The picture here, which seems to have captured the screen of an iPad in testing, shows settings for video call debugging, which is clearly proof for iPad video calling support. Considering that in November the iPad, the iPhone and the iPod touch will all have a unified iOS version, iOS 4.2, which will come with support for taking pictures, video recording and video calling, we have one more reason to believe the iPad 2 is getting at least one camera.
Last, but not least, the tablets from the competition come with cameras on board so Apple can’t afford to ignore video camera support in the next-gen tablet. It’s too early to tell if this picture shows indeed the screen of an iPad 2 in the wild, but in the following months we’ll definitely get more and more iPad 2 related rumors.
