Google Announcing Visual Search Updates On September 8? [After Google Acquires Like.com Many Believe They Will Announce Visual Search During Press Conference On September 8]
While there are several competitors in the search engine market, 3 in particular have been known to really make strides in terms of media attention; Google, Yahoo and Bing. Each of these respective search engines have found their way onto mobile platforms, built-deeply into operating systems and even in the midst of heavy marketing campaigns at times.

Yahoo and Bing hold a decent portion of the market but Google is without a doubt the most heavily used search engine on the web. In fact, Google has managed to secure a commanding 84% of the search engine market worldwide which is quite the amazing feat considering the amount of people on the Internet these days.
Google wasn’t always the mammoth it is today as around its 1998 launch date its founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page wanted nothing more than to categorize the world’s knowledge and make it accessible to all. Not long after their highly successful search engine has made for one of the most targeted advertisement platforms on the web with revenues in the $10′s of billions.
However, while Google holds such a large portion of the market and many love its simple design, others have argued that it is getting quite stale. In fact, some Bing loyalists point to Microsoft’s unique presentation of the search engine as an advantage over Google, but in the end it all comes down to personal preference, as always.
Luckily, Google likes to switch things up a bit to spice up its experience with their engineers releasing various new products at various times, not to mention the much loved Google Doodles.
This time, it seems that Google is really looking to switch things up as they have just sent out invitations for a special event to give us an “inside look at the evolution of Google search”.
It’s not officially known what Google will announce on September 8th during this event but we do have some clues. If you’ll remember not too long ago we told you that Google had acquired the popular Like.com visual search engine.
Due to this acquistion, many have believed that Google will be announcing their new visual search feature come September 8th. However, until it comes from the mouth of one of their executives we won’t know for sure.
