Apple’s Ping Social Network Gets 1 Million Users In 2 Days [Apple's Entry Into the Social Network Industry, Ping, Amasses One Million Users In Just Two Days]
Social networking websites populate our everyday life on a regular basis. Just about every device we show you be it a television, smartphone, tablet, desktop or laptop features social networking connectivity with popular websites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and so on.

Thanks to the massive market adoption of these websites, they have proven themselves to be very successful with companies like the above mentioned amassing hundreds of millions of active users with population growth showing no signs of stopping. However, while Facebook and Twitter are two of the most popular it does not mean that they are the only entities within the social networking industry.
This passed Wednesday Apple held a special press conference to announced their own entry into the industry alongside their new lineup of iPods. Additionally, they announced and released iTunes 10 which is currently the only way to get down on Ping, their social network.
Ping is a social network focused entirely on music that allows you to follow your friends reviews, ratings and likes. Additionally, if you follow one of your favorite artists you will be given access to their status updates and photographs. This may prove to be very successful against musically oriented social networks such as Last.fm and MySpace Music.
While Ping is seemingly underdeveloped in its current, the social network definitely holds promise. In fact, just today Apple announced that Ping managed to acquire 1 million users in just 2 days. This can partially be attributed to the fact that it’s new and has sparked some user curiosity, so it will be interesting to see how much of this user base is retained.
If Atlop Ping and allow followers to view what music you are listening to, much like Last.fm, it may really see some heavy market adoption considering it is built straight into iTunes – one of the most popular media players.
Anyone out there using Ping? If so, what do you think of it?
