Antec Steps Into Computer Speaker Market
You’ve heard of 3D televisions, and 3D laptops, and 3D Blu-ray players…but 3D computer speakers? That’s a new one on me, anyway, and so I was surprised to see the announcement from Antec out of the the IFA show offering exactly that.
And lest you think that title a typo, I assure you that the proper name of these speakers is indeed a fully lowercase “soundscience rockus”.
The soundscience rockus system includes a pair of anodized aluminum satellite speakers, an active subwoofer, 3D-tuned drivers using soundscience’s proprietary 3dsst technology, your choice of 3D mode for movies and games and a straight stereo mode for music, optical input so that you can hook them into a PS3 or Xbox 360 (and similar devices), and a remote control pod that handles a variety of options.
Here’s the part that’ll really get you–turns out, this set of computer speakers will set you back a whopping $249.95. Considering you can get certain home theater in a box setups for less than that, the soundscience rockus had better be a really spectacular set of speakers.
