Sonos and Spotify Come Together For IFA

Spotify Music Service Can Now Be Played On Sonos Players

It’s a little dose of Christmas miracle in September, folks, a taste of the season well in advance. Seems that what folks have been wanting for a good long time (at least out in Europe) came out just in time for the IFA show in Berlin: Sonos is adding Spotify support to its line of home music players.

All Sonos owners need do is wait for the 3.3 Sonos software update, which is set to land at the end of this month. Then, new and existing Spotify Premium customers will be able to run the Spotify tracks they have through their Sonos hardware.

The deal, sadly, is limited to customers in the following geographies: Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

This move puts relative newcomer Sonos on par with subscription services from Rhapsody and Napster, so look for a whole lot of Sonos users subscribing to Spotify in rapid fashion.
