Amazon Now Offering 99 Cent Permanent Streaming Access

Fox and ABC Shows Can Be Permanently Streamed From Amazon For A Dollar

Remember when Amazon was talking about getting streaming access to movies and television? Why, it seems like only yesterday I was telling you about that…oh wait…it was only yesterday! But now it’s official–Amazon is offering streaming for ABC and Fox television episodes for just $.99 an episode…permanently.

Apparently, once you pay your $.99 to get your hands on an episode of, say, Dollhouse, you’ll have access to it for as long as there’s an Internet. Just a start, admittedly, but a start nonetheless.

It seems very much like this, along with Roku’s recent price drops that would go hand-in-hand with such a measure, is a big reaction to Apple looking to enter the market with its Apple TV. Don’t get me wrong–I’m always glad for price drops on most anything–but it does whip up the cynicism just a bit to watch the timing of it all.

So if you’re looking to get your hands on streaming video in large doses and you don’t want to wait for Apple TV to hit, then this may be the opportunity you’re looking for.
