Apple Media Event: New iPod shuffle, nano, touch, Apple TV, iTunes, iOS 4.1 & 4.2

The new Apple media event hosted today in San Francisco came and went and we have covered everything for you. Apple streamed this music-based event live, which is something they don’t normally do, but in case you missed it all you then we have all the goodies for you.


After telling us, again, how great Apple is doing at selling iOS devices, about 120 million of them already, Steve Jobs went ahead and made a few important announcements.

iOS Updates

The new iOS 4.1 is coming to both the iPod touch and the the iPhone but iOS 4.2 is only going to be available in November for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. At least they’re all free updates:

New iPod Lines

Apple simply had to redesign the new devices. They sold 275 million iPods already so what better way to sell more? Reinvent them each year:

iTunes 10 & Ping

Naturally with new iPods comes new responsibility so Apple launched iTunes 10 today with a not-so-secret-anymore social networking side of it called Ping:

Apple TV, a Hobby

Apple needs Apple TV, which isn’t called iTV by the way, to fight Google’s upcoming Google TV. Not to mention they have plenty of iOS devices waiting for more content that would fit well with the Apple TV project. ‘Nuff said:
