On whether Cisco is indeed serious in pursuing VoIP service Skype or not is an open book but just in case, we may see a new acquisition if it all pushes through.

As the Holiday season draws near, Microsoft is making sure that their Windows Phone 7 OS doesn’t get ignored. In fact, Microsoft is said to be ready to spend around $400 million to market the said mobile OS, a move that aims to somehow separate them from Apple and Google.

Finally, after rumors of Intel acquiring Infineon surfaced sometime in July, the deal has been closed. Intel has formally acquired mobile chip maker Infineon, the same company that makes chips for smartphones like the Apple iPhone.
