SocialDeck Mobile Solice Gaming Company Gets Picked Up Buy Google

Google Acquires Mobile Social Gaming Company SocialDeck, Supports Rumors of Google Games

It’s no denying the fact that Google is currently one of the biggest names on the Internet and within the tech community. Founded in 1998, Google started as a humble search engine company that looked to index the world’s information and make it usable for all. However, now that time has passed and Google’s stock has risen dramatically, the company is free to make their way into whatever industry they please.

Not only do they have popular online services like Gmail and Google Voice but they also have the ever-so-popular Android mobile operating system and even the forthcoming Google TV media platform. Who would have thought a search engine company would come such a long way?

However, according to rumors, Google isn’t done just yet with reports suggesting the company is working on things such as bringing pay-per-view movies to YouTube. Additionally, rumors have been around for some time now that say Google is working on not only a social network to compete with Facebook but also a sort of social gaming depot often called Google Games.

In fact, today, it was announced that Google has acquired SocialDeck – a social mobile gaming company that only just recently got its start within the past few years. With the purchase of SocialDeck Google will have access to a whole slew of engineers and people in the know-how that will help them push their gaming platform forward. If you’re not familiar with SocialDeck they have a few popular games available for the various mobile platforms such as Shake & Spell, Color Connect and Pet Hero.

Not only does this support the Google Games rumor but it also leads us to believe that Google will be making a massive push soon enough to market the Android as a premiere mobile gaming platform. It already has a ton of games available for download in the Android Marketplace but Google has yet to really market the platform in terms of gaming when compard to Apple with their iOS platform.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see what Google has cookin’ for this latest acquisition.
