Microsoft to Create Marketing Blitz for Windows Phone 7 [Microsoft is Spending $400 Million to Market its Windows Phone 7 OS]

As the Holiday season draws near, Microsoft is making sure that their Windows Phone 7 OS doesn’t get ignored. In fact, Microsoft is said to be ready to spend around $400 million to market the said mobile OS, a move that aims to somehow separate them from Apple and Google.

While $400 million seems overwhelming, critics believe that they could hit $1 billion in total to make it all work.

With the Android and the iPhone OS making their mark, Microsoft has its work cut out for them if they intend to position themselves well with the busy bodies of Apple and Google.

This is sort of a make or break resort for them. But if you base it on Microsoft’s past marketing campaigns, such a marketing blitz should not be surprising.

Microsoft had already spent about $500 million with Intel to advertise Windows XP in October, 2001, giving you an idea that Microsoft could care less just to build awareness for its Windows Phone 7 OS in the coming months.
