LG Plans Release of Ultra-Thin OLED Monitor

LG's OLED Monitor Is Just .11 Inches Thick

We don’t hear too much about OLED monitors these days. Between LCD and straight LED, that’s most of the market outside of cell phones. OLED monitors just can’t compete. But LG’s looking to add one to the market, and the biggest thing you’ll notice about it is how easy it is not to notice it.

LG’s new OLED monitor, which we hear will be bowing at the IFA show in Berlin, is just a whopping .11 inches thick. And even better, as far as computer monitors go, it’s also 31 inches diagonal. That is one great whopping monitor, and you likely won’t do much better unless you hook your computer to a television outright.

But here’s the downside–this prototype will have to share shelf space with a much larger retail LED television, so chances are not too many people will be looking at this prototype that may never see shelves. Still though, like I said, as monitors go it’s really something.
