Wind Mobile Rumored To Release The Motorola Milestone XT720 & BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9100 [Canadian Carrier Wind Mobile Expected To Begin Offering The Pearl 3G In A Few Days & The Milestone XT720 In Mid-September]

According to the latest internet chatter (read: rumor), Canadian wireless carrier Wind Mobile will soon be launching a few new smartphones. The new devices are said to include the BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9100 and the Motorola Milestone XT720.

As for when these are expected to arrive, according to the details the Pearl 3G 9100 will be the first to arrive and that will happen sometime in the next couple of days. In terms of the Milestone XT720, that is a little more generic, sometime in mid-September. Either way though, neither is all that far away. The price for the Milestone was not mentioned in the rumor, however the Pearl 3G is expected to be $320. And while that sounds high, remember, Wind Mobile is contract free.

Otherwise, as TFTS readers I am sure many will recognize both of these handsets. Granted neither are brand new, but as a pre-paid option they are still more than decent.

The BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9100 comes sporting a 2.26 inch display with 360 x 400 pixel display, 3.2 megapixel camera, 624MHz processor, 256MB internal storage, microSD card slot, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm headphone jack, optical trackpad and a 1150 mAh battery. And the Pearl 9100 has the 20 key QWERTY with SureType. Furthermore, for those looking to shell out a little less up front, and say go with a contract, the Pearl 3G 9100 is also available with other Canadian carriers including Rogers.

Next up we have the Motorola Milestone XT720, which is an Android smartphone. The XT720 comes sporting a 3.7 inch (480 x 854) touchscreen display, 720MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 8 megapixel camera with xenon flash, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot, GPS, FM radio and is running Android 2.1.

With that, we await further details and something official coming from Wind Mobile. That said, both handsets look like they will make nice additions to the currently available device lineup.
