StreamTV Launching 7-Inch Elocity A7 Android Tablet This September
There are several emerging competitors in the tablet market largely due to the immense success of Apple’s iPad. However, while many of them have been made known, few have actually made their way to market. Luckily, tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab have been making strides in terms of media attention while retaining vague release dates.

One company, practically unknown until now, is StreamTV. Based out of Philadelpha, StreamTV recently sat down with Engadget to let us know of launch plans for their Android powered Elocity A7 tablet.
This Elocity A7 will feature an “extremely responsive” 7-inch capacitive multitouch display with a 800 x 480 resolution and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and an accelerometer. Additionally, the tablet will come equipped with USB HDMI, and an SD slot for additional storage. Of course, the biggest selling point the Elocity A7 has is its 1GHz Tegra 2 processor courtesy of NVIDIA.
Software-wise the demo unit was running Android 2.1 but the company’s CEO assures us it will be shipping with Android 2.2 come October. However, instead of shipping the Android Marketplace, StreamTV was forced to go with the alternative GetJar app store due to restrictions surrounding the preloading of Marketplace.
StreamTV hopes to ship the Elocity A7 tablet exclusively through Amazon.com this September for $399 which may or may not be an enticing price point for you.
This tablet, just like about every other Android powered tablet that has been announced, looks to in really give the iPad a run for its money. It’s going to be interesting to see the outcome as due to these tablets all featuring generally the same specs it’s going to come down to which company markets their product the best. I mean, they did say
