Redstar Starts Pre-Orders for Shogo Linux-Powered Tablet [The Shogo Linux-Powered Tablet is Available for Pre-Order in Japan]
The tablet frenzy continues, the latest of which is the Shogo Linux-powered tablet from Japanese company Redstar. Pre-orders have commenced for this little-known tablet, widening the array of tablet-making players in this market segment.
The Shogo will feature a 10″ tablet that is powered by a Freescale iMX-37 processor and a 1024×600 resolution and multi-touch capability.
Further features of the Shogo include a 4GB internal memory, 256MB RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G support, Zigbee and SDHC memory card slots.
The tablet may be based in Japan and while it wasn’t mentioned if the Shogo would dip its hand in the international scene, you have to wonder how it would far if it did.
Hence, unless a Japanese geek decides to put up a review, we may never know what the real deal is for this Linux-based tablet. There was no pricing information mentioned as well which makes the debut (and pre-order thingy) a bit raw.
Then again, being an unknown (for now), consumer electronics buffs could care less. Let’s see how it fares and if it deserves additional reviews (bad or good please).
