Looking For An EVO 4G? Expect It Back In Sprint’s Online Store Next Week [After Pulling The Phone Due To Overwhelming Demand, The Phone That Saved Sprint Is Coming Back Soon]

Sprint had been in bad shape before their HTC EVO 4G came out. They were losing customers every quarter, despite offering some really cut-rate plans and phones. The EVO 4G really changed all that, as the #3 major carrier in the US started gaining customers for the first time in awhile. The phone was under such tremendous demand that it was removed from Sprint’s online stores. Now, it’s coming back next week.

According to a tweet from the official Sprint account, they’ll re-add the EVO to the online store, although it will still be in limited quantities. We imagine it’ll be similar to what Verizon and Apple do. While they list popular phones for sale (Droid X, iPhone 4), there is a long wait time before they’ll ship them too you. Any potential buyers should expect to wait a month for their EVO.

Sprint allegedly was pulling their online stock in favor of keeping retail stores fully stocked with the phone. We’d imagine that Sprint’s retail channels likely do more business than their online store.

By all intents and purposes, it looks like Sprint’s next 4G phone, the Samsung Epic 4G, will have just as much demand as the EVO 4G. Sprint did offer pre-orders for the phone, but it looks like they’ve already sold through the initial stock as they aren’t offering them anymore.
