T-Mobile G2 “Confirmed” As Coming September 29th [Blurry Spycam Photo Shows T-Mobile Internal Calendar Listing G2 As Coming Late September, As Rumored]

T-Mobile news site TmoNews (who has numerous reliable sources inside T-Mobile) has posted what allegedly is a blurry picture of a T-Mobile internal calendar. It “confirms” the September 29th date that has been thrown around as the release date for the T-Mobile G2.

It was initially rumored that the T-Mobile G2 would come out September 9th. But “more reliable” rumors pinned that the phone would be unveiled on September 9th, which would also kick-off the pre-ordering period, with the phone going on sale on September 29th. Sounds good to us.

It’s also all but confirmed that the phone is the phone codenamed as HTC Blaze that we’ve seen some leaked blurry spycam photos of. In addition to being the T-Mobile G2 in the US, it should also be sold in Europe from Vodafone as the HTC Desire Z.

Some early listings of this phone on Wal-Mart.com have revealed the technical specs:

  • 3.7-inch OLED screen
  • 1GHZ Snapdragon processor
  • Android 2.1 with HTC Sense
  • HSPA+ (of course)

All-in-all, it doesn’t look like a bad phone and a lot of T-Mobile customers are excited about this device. It’s a bit odd too see that T-Mobile doesn’t have any offerings in the “jumbo” Android phone category (with the Droid X, Dell Streak and EVO 4G on the other major carriers). Maybe they have something in development.

Admit it, are you going to get a T-Mobile G2? Sound off in our comments section.

I challenge the credibility of that “calendar.” It appears that the people at T-Mobile have a full schedule through September 29…. but there’s nothing on the schedule beyond that. It looks as if someone created a bogus calendar, and released it on the media as being authentic, much like the “Wal*Mart” listing last week. The WalMart listing called the phone the “Blaze,” said it has a Sense UI, and a snapdraggon processor. However, the alleged FCC details say there is no Sense, called Vision, and has a Qualcomm processor. It will be nice when T-Mobile makes the details public and everyone is on the same page.

This just shows a phone being launched, it does not say the G2. This could very well be the Mytouch 3G HD and the G2 being released in November.
