Sony Ericsson's Xperia X8 May Be Less Than $300 In US
While Sony’s Xperia X10 may be the high-end pricey smartphone offering, some new internet rumors pin that the smaller and upcoming Xperia X8 may be priced to move, with them specifically saying that it’ll be sold without a contract at $300. That would make the two-year price at around $100. Yikes.

Remember that the Xperia X8 was featured in some blurry spycam photos as the “Shakira”, even though it was unveiled and uncovered as the Xperia X8. It’s set to have a 3-inch screen, a 600MHz processor, a 3.2MP camera and Android 1.6 (with SE’s critically acclaimed TimeScape UI). The phone could be a nice little phone. SE hasn’t announced how much RAM it’ll have – which is disappointing and worrying at the same time. This phone could fly if it had at least 512MB.
Nothing on pricing was officially announced, but judging by the fact that it’s just a 3-inch screen and a 600MHz processor, the $300 price sounds about right to us. Nothing on which carriers will carry the device, but since the Xperia X10 is being offered by AT&T, you’ve got to believe that Ma Bell will at least be given first refusal on the phone.
Unlike most of the Android manufacturer UIs (MOTOBLUR, HTC Sense), TimeScape really is well-liked by most (it seems). Our own Andrew got his hands on a Xperia X10 at a pre-launch event and liked it, as well.
