HP Shilling Palm Phones By Bundling Them With Laptops
HP may have bought Palm in order to put webOS on tablets and printers, but they’ve still got some commitment to seeing the smartphone business do well, at least for now. The latest scheme to move Palm phones? Bundle them with HP laptops. After all, HP is the biggest computer company in the world. What could go wrong?

For a special deal – HP is offering their $500 HP ProBook Laptop with a Palm phone. The Palm Pixi Plus is being offering for free, while the Palm Pre Plus (the one that most of our readers will actually want, probably) will cost you $50. The phones also require a service plan. HP’s website is coy on what service provider it is, but we suspect Sprint.
Regarding Sprint, the carrier is offering the Palm Pixi Plus for $50 while the Pre Plus is selling for $150. So, you are getting a bit of a deal by buying your phones bundled with the HP laptop. We doubt that any BlackBerry-carrying road warriors will give up their RIMs for a Palm, but it’s nice to see HP supporting Palm. And as far as e-mail/calendar functionality go – webOS is about as similar to a BlackBerry as you can find.
