GeForce GTS 450 Specs Allegedly Leaked [Rumored Next Mid-Range NVIDIA Card To Feature 789MHz Clock, Compete Against Radeon HD 5700 Series]

A German website has posted specs of what allegedly will be NVIDIA’s next GeForce 400 graphics card. According to the rumor, Big Green is planning what will be called the “GTS 450″, which looks it’ll be an entry-level graphics card. Among the handful of specs, it’ll allegedly have a healthy amount of CUDA cores as well as a 700MHz+ clock speed.

The GTS 450 will be based on the GF106 GPU (40nm). It’ll be clocked at 789MHz, with 192 CUDA cores. Also, it’ll have 1GB of GDDR5 memory which is running at 3608MHz. Unfortunately, the memory interface seems a bit low to us – at just a reported 128-bit. As it’s a Fermi card, you can expect it to support the usual – DirectX 11, SLI and so on.

Pricing wise, nothing was rumored. But expect NVIDIA and the manufacturers to match this card up against the ATI Radeon HD 5700 series of cards, which are currently starting at $125. However, website Fudzilla isn’t expecting much out of this card. They reckon that it’s too late for NVIDIA in the mid-range of the graphics race, as the ATI manufactuers can beat the NVIDIA cards in price due to economies of scale.

Also, some details have surfaced recently about the pending ATI Radeon HD 6000 series. Hard to believe we’re already talking about such a card generation, but it’s on its way. The GTS 450 will face some stiff competition from that.

Regardless, the GTS 450 is on it’s way (allegedly) this September.
