Froyo HTC EVO 4G Gets Root, You Know It Was Bound to Happen [New Root Available in the Wild for Android 2.2 Froyo HTC EVO 4G]
With jailbreaking, rooting and unlocking becoming a legal thing in the USA, we’re not surprised to see more and more such solutions made available for the popular smartphones out there. In fact they would have probably have been made public as fast and as easily even while such actions were considered illegal.

Today we have a new rooting tutorial for you, and this time around it involves a very popular Android handset, one of the top two Android devices out there, the HTC EVO 4G, wait for it, with Android 2.2 Froyo on board. The regular EVO 4G running Android 2.1 has been rooted of course, and now it’s time for the next-gen root process to become available.
Now if you are ready to get superuser access on your HTC EVO 4G with Froyo on board then go grab a pot of coffee (yes, a whole pot) make yourself comfortable, and make sure you follow all the steps in the tutorial as described. We’ve shown you various things you can manually do to your Android handset, and this is by far the most complicated, yet simple, but very thorough tutorial. Even if you’re not that comfortable with modding your Android handset, you still can follow the extraordinarily documented steps the XDA developers have put together.
Naturally by the time you will have finished with the manual root of the Froyo HTC EVO 4G, an easier method might be made available. We’re thinking maybe a 1-touch root program is in order, but we wouldn’t want to pressure developers, would we? Although with Android 2.2 being made available on more and more handset, we can only assume that easier root methods are coming soon.
Oh, and by the way, you know you’re the only one responsible for whatever happens to your EVO 4G while you’re following the steps below to get root, right? And if you have the coffee ready, then follow the via link below for all the instructions needed for this simple process. Normally we would have copied everything right in here, but this one is so detailed that we don’t want to risk forgetting a comma and ruin it all for you. And then let us know how everything works on the rooted device, will you?
