Sony's Netbox Offers Streaming To Television
It’s not a surprise to see Sony getting an entry or two into the set-top streaming box market. They’re great things, in their way, pulling the computer out of the equation and giving you an all-in-one streaming solution that doesn’t add on its share of troubles (of course, it doesn’t include what the computer does, but for simplicity, the box is probably best). So hearing about Sony’s Netbox won’t be too big a surprise.
The Netbox handles Sony’s Bravia Internet services, which in turn gives you access to things like YouTube and Netflix, in one simple package.
It also handles video formats like DivX and MKV, as well as offering both Wi-Fi (802.11n) and Ethernet, so you don’t need to go wireless if you’re not there already. You’ll even get a USB port for your external hard drives.
And all of this comes your way for just $130 bucks, and that’s not half bad for a great all-in-one setup for your Internet media needs.
